Weekly South Florida Peace Events ~ Show Your Support For The Troops!

Show your support for the troops in So Flo. Show them how much you care about their lives. Go to one of the many peace rally's scheduled weekly. If you can't make the rally's - do something in your own way to end the mess in Iraq. I work when I'm not being mom so I'm not able to attend but it doesn't mean I don't talk to people who cross my path to awaken them into paying attention...and voting.

You can still protest the war!
Every Saturday there are antiwar protests taking place in Broward County!

11:00am-12:30pm - Antiwar protest in front of the U.S. military recruitment office located at 1406-12 N. SR-7 (US-441) in Lauderhill (about 4 blocks north of Sunrise Blvd.). We get a fantastic response from people driving by with a few even stopping to join us (including last week, a retired U.S. Army colonel!). This past Saturday, the military recruiters were clearly rattled. We overheard one recruiter asking the other "can they do this?" They actually had the audacity to call the police on us (so much about "defending freedom and democracy"!) who told them we had a legal right to be there on the sidewalk (duh!). So let's show them we're not cowed with a stronger show of force than before!

2:00pm-3:00pm – Weekly Deerfield Beach antiwar protest. Corner of Hillsboro Blvd. & Military Trail. Last Saturday, we had over 100 people there in solidarity with the march in Washington, D.C.! The response from passers-by was amazing!

WEEKLY BROWARD ANTI-WAR MEETING: Every Thursday at 7:30pm at the GLCC, 1717 N. Andrews Ave. BAWC is a democratic (small 'd') action-oriented group who's direction is determined by its active membership. Get involved! Join us!
